Good job on the website Jewell!
Mary Parker Class of 1963
IT LOOKS GREAT JEWELL, Thank You
Great job Jewell! I'm looking forward to the reunion. Linda Sumners(1964)
Among the fond memories that I hold dear are the three years that I spent as a member of the faculty at Bodenham High School. It was a great place to begin my full-time work experience. The loyalty and involvement of the entire community was amazing. I cannot imagine a more congenial and cooperative group of teachers, a more supportive group of parents, or a better group of students. BHS will forever occupy a warm place in my heart. Harold Bass
Grateful for this website... Plan to tell my class, family and others about it, so they too can enjoy! Nedra Johnson Trebing, Class of 1959
Some of the fondest memories of my life were at Bodenham and when I visit home there is a peace that hits me when I see the school grounds. I hope to be at the reunion and Jewel you did a marvelous job on the website. Sandra Fosnight Norwood Class of 1973
So glad to see this web page. I have so many great memories from all my years at Bodenham High School. The fond memories of this wonderful place will always be in my heart. I wish kids today could have the love and support we all had for each other at Bodenham. This love and support will never fade away. Barbara Ann Johnson Hottenstein
I just happen to find this web site today and was so thrilled. I live in California now and it is good to see the pictures and read about the history of Bodenham School. I enjoyed my years at Bodenham High School and I made some very good friends. The web site is very imformative. Keep up the good work. Patty (McDougal) Cathey. Send me some emails pcathey@bak.rr.com
I only went to Bodenham for about a year and a half. This was back in the 60's. Mrs. Yarbrough and Mrs. Derryberry were the teachers that I had. My Dad was in Vietnam at that time, and I had a hard time adjusting to a very different kind of community than that of a military base. But I remember the good friends that I did make. And I was so happy to find them still friends when I moved back to Bodenham as an adult. Here's to my friend Wanda Dodge Ratliff--God Bless.--BHS All hail.
Janet Parker Vanzant The web site is great. Thanks for the hard work.
I am Leonard McDougal's Wife, This web site is really nice. It helps me to know a little more about where my husband went to school and some of the people that he knew. Keep it going. Myra Jo McDougal
This is to Myra Jo McDougal. Leonard was my uncle. I am James' oldest daughter Patty. Send me an email at pcathey@bak.rr.com. Would like to get to know you.
It's nice to see the Bodenham Green again! Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish all twelve years of school at Bodenham. I remember 1978 as a very sentimental year for me in the seventh grade as I anticipated both the end of the school year and sadly, the closing of Bodenham; I have many cherished memories of those seven years. I'm glad to see this website and hope it continues to grow. Great job! Kim Nave Cosby
My name is Jamie Hyatt Hollis and I'm the daughter of Regina Smith Hyatt. She graduated in 1973. I would like to say that my mama has many special memories of the school. There is not a day that goes by that she don't say something about the school. Bodenham will always be in her heart. One thing that sticks in my head the most is when someone ask us where we where from, she always says Bodenham, you know where the blood and water runs GREEN. Were the HORNETS! I could go on and on about her memories she has shared. They are wonderful. I know she has had fun working on the reunion. Just wait to you see what all she has done. Thank you for your time. I hope to come to the reunion with her. For her, GO HORNETS! The web-site looks great. Sincerely, Jamie Hyatt Hollis
It's so good to see the Bodenham Green brought to life in this website. We have a great heritage that all the community should be proud of and I think it's great to have a means to communicate this to the whole wide world. Thanks for all the hard work in making this site possible. Kathy Jewell Kermicle 8/23/2005
I'm so proud to be a 1974 graduate of Bodenham High School and have totally enjoyed looking at this web site. I really appreciate you taking the time to prepare this and doing such a great job on it. It really brought back a lot of great memories. GO HORNETS! Gail Massey Luffman KEG@SURFMORE.NET
I was in Jan Bass' kindergarten class in 1978.My parents, aunts, uncles and other relatives went to school here and a lot of us still live in this community. This website is great for our little community! We are also looking for anyone who has pictures of my Grandfather,William Newton. He was the school janitor for many years. If anyone has any photos of him, please contact us at dmh42@igiles.net. I am Candace Hyatt Self the daughter of a full-blooded Bodenham Hornet Regina Smith Hyatt and I mean full-blooded her veins are green. My mother has told my brother, sister and me many wonderful stories of her school years. Bodenham school means alot to her and everyone that went there. She has worked really hard on a project for this upcoming reunion and I know that everyone will enjoy it. I am proud of all the people that have put the effort in keeping Bodenham alive. The website is GREAT!!
The web site is great! I went to Bodenham for eight years. The friends I made during this time are still friends of mine today. I only wish that my daughter could have attended a school like this. When I go by the school grounds it reminds me of simpler times when our parents didn't have to worry about us. The memories I have are the best! Tammy Hargrove
Thank you Jewel for all the hard work you did on this web site. Thanks to people like you the spirit of Bodenham High School will never die. The nine years that I spent at Bodenham were some of the best years of my life. Thanks to all the teachers who had a part in molding me into the person I am today from my first grade teacher Mrs. Nix to Mrs Paysinger, Mrs. Yarbourgh, Mrs. Long, and Mrs.Bugg. They maybe gone but they will live in my heart forever. To all my old classmates thanks for all the memories and GO GREEN HORNETS!!!! forever. Douglas Johns
I want to thank all of you who have donated money to the J. Marlin Goodman scholarship fund. I was the first to benefit from your generosity! As a result, I’m pleased to announce that I’ve graduated from UT-Martin and have returned home as the new UT 4-H Extension Agent! I, like my cousins Jamie Hyatt Hollis and Candace Hyatt Self, can remember my folks, Rickie “Amos” and Jeanne Smith Stanford, telling me and my little brother stories of their beloved Bodenham. I still to this day tell people that’s were I come from. I just wish that my brother, cousins and I got to attend Bodenham and got to wear the green and white and be a HORNET! Thank you all for keeping the memory and spirit of Bodenham alive. I truly LOVE hearing all the stories! God Bless y’all and I’m glad to be home in God’s country, BODENHAM! For now and ever, my blood will run green! All hail, BODENHAM! Go Hornets! ~Lacy Stanford
I remember going to Mrs. Yarborough's class and being terrified of everyone there? I was that transfer kid who came in the middle of the school year. I also remember the sulfer water pew! Go hornets. L. A. Wade
As I read all the comments made to date, it just tickles my heart and I am laughing out loud. My greatest memories are of my wonderful teachers and friendships made during my school days at BHS. Starting each new day with the Pledge to the Flag and short Bible Verse and prayer, Ball trips and practices with Coach Parker, cooking with Mrs. Long in Home Ec and her patient, wonderful attempts at teaching me to sew, Study Hall with Mr. Helton ("Green, I know you ain't chewing blow gum"!!!), Typing class with Mrs. Smith (remember the manual typewriters and that egg timer?), Mrs. Bugg trying to get and keep our attention in Algebra with the help of her "flying erasers", Mrs. Flora Holt's showing us that English and Literature could come alive and take us places we could only dream of, helping Ms. Jane Parker as a Beta Club member with her 6th grade class.......What wonderful blessed memories !!!! The problems of the world today could be solved if they could only be handled with the way we were taught at Bodenham. Respect of yourself and others through actions and words, Honor of God and Country, Committment to a Responsibility and giving your Word. It makes me sad that my daughter never had the chance to attend BHS. When she was little, I would sing to her. She would say, "Moma, where did you learn that song?" It would always be when I was a little girl at Bodenham. Sometimes I stop and think that the closing of BHS at the end of my Junior year was like the end of the Yellow Brick Road, only I didn't know it at the time. As I grow older, I realize how blessed our lives truly were. I want to thank all of my teachers and friends for all the wonderful memories and helping me to be the person I am today. Thank you Jewel for taking the time to set up this website. I will definitely visit often!!!! GO HORNETS !!!!!! Janice Greene Turner (Class of "WOULD OF BEEN" 79)
Jewell, Thanks for taking the time to do the web-site for Bodenham. It looks great. Keep up the good work. I enjoyed the reunion Saturday. The project done by Regina Hyatt for the reunion was great. It brought back "old" memories at BHS. Nancy Moore Grimes - Class of 76
Ronald Story Pulaski, Tn My Wife was from that school and i have a lot of good friends from that school period
The work you do on your site is amazing, keep it up. ------------------------------ Allison -
Your writing style is great, I hope you keep writing.
I did not attend BHS. I was born in 1981. I believe that some of my aunts and uncles did attend though. I think I recognize some of the people in the photos. It would be nice if a person could be able to enlage the photos. Other than that I enjoyed viewing the web site. I hope that one day someone cares enough about my graduating class and school to make a web site this nice. I like the school spirit. Thanks for your time; Brandon Malone Class of 2000 GCHS.
Thanks for the good job on the website Randy Wells
